Chinese Antique Furniture:  Chinese antique furniture was made from wood that was not kiln dried and was used to a climate with high humidity level for years. As wood is a natural living material, it will grow in an even humid environment and contract in a drier environment to settle in to its new climate.  The lines may be developed when the antique furniture makes adjustment to its new home. The development of lines does not affect the structural integrity at all, but adds character and allure to the piece. We will make every effort to provide you with as detail information as possible to help you to make your purchase decision.

Please keep in mind that our antique furniture is an older piece and not in "perfect" condition. All our antique pieces were previously used and their condition reflects their use. Any restoration was purposely kept to minimal. The beauty of our antique is in the imperfections that give each piece a unique and interesting look and feel. We will do our best to provide as much detail information as we can to help you make your decision.

Antique and wooden furniture of this nature is susceptible to cracking and warping if not properly cared for. This usually can be avoided by keeping these pieces protected from extreme heat and cold and maintaining a moderate humidity level. Often these conditions help to give pieces a unique look and feel of an antique.
