How do I clean and care of my wood furniture?

Where do you get your furniture?  All reproduction furniture is hand-made by the furniture makers in China. We choose our furniture makers based on their craftsmanship and ability to explore new design and techniques   All of our furniture is hand-made from beginning to end, using traditional Chinese joinery techniques, hand-rubbed finish, and hand-forged hardware.  Already seasoned reclaimed elm wood is used to make most of our reproduction. 

How do I place an order?  You may place an order online, see the instruction on how to order on line below or call us toll free at 1-877-692-5069. When you call, it expedites the process if you have the Item # ready. We will walk you through the ordering process or place the order for you.

How to order on line? Once you have selected the items you wish to purchase, you can go through the checkout process in five simple steps:

Step 1: Your Shopping Cart Content: The shopping cart displays items you have selected and the price. You may add or delete items and change quantities.

Step 2: Delivery Information: If you have not registered with us, you need to register first. If you already registered, you just need to confirm your shipping address is correct. Here you can review your shipping & handling (S&H) charges and give your special instructions or comments about your order if you have any.

Step 3: Payment Information: You can review your total charge amount, including item charge, S&H, and sales tax if it applies to you.

Step 4: Order Confirmation: You can review your shipping and billing address, products ordered, and total charges carefully to make sure all information is correct. Then you can click the “Confirm the order” button on the lower right corner of the screen for your detailed payment information.

Step 5: Your Payment Detail: You may pay by either a credit card or PayPal. If you choose to pay by credit card, you can click “Continue checkout” on the lower left corner of the screen. On the next screen you can input your credit card information. After you complete the required information, you will receive an email to confirm your purchase and payment.

What payment methods do you accept for my purchase?  We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Paypal, and Personal Check.  Please note that your order will not be processed until your check has cleared.

How is my order shipped?  All smaller packages ship via FedEx Ground or US Postal Service.  Signature is required for the delivery.  Large furniture and over sized packages will be shipped by freight carrier and delivered to the curbside of your house. You will receive a call from the driver to make delivery arrangements after your order has been shipped.  Please contact us for a rate quote for: White Glove Delivery, Express Delivery, and other special service.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?  If your piece is in stock, it will be delivered within approximately 2 to 4 weeks of your order.  If your piece is from our warehouse in China,  it will be delivered within approximately 6-10 weeks. If your piece has to be made, delivery will be approximately 12-16 weeks.

How much is the Shipping & Handling?  Free for the 48 states continental USA. Please contact us for the shipping cost for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and international destination.

How much is the Sales Tax?  No Sales Tax for non-Massachusetts residents. The Massachusetts sales tax is 6.25%.

What is your return policy?  We want you to be perfectly happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will be glad to refund you for the full amount less all shipping cost or exchange within 30 days of your purchase, no questions asked.

Conditions: 

*  Call us to obtain a return authorization number. A return without our authorization will not be  accepted.

*  All returns must be in their original condition and packaging

*  Purchasers are responsible for all shipping and handling charges

*  Special order cannot be returned

*  Once item is inspected to be in original condition as sent to customer, full credit for the product less shipping and handling cost will be issued.

How do I make a return?  Simply give us a call to make arrangements to have your piece(s) shipped back.

What if the item I receive is damaged?  Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival of your order. If your item was shipped to you by freight, please inspect the package for visible damage before the carrier leaves and make any notations on the Bill of Lading (delivery receipt). If, during delivery, it is obvious that there is damage, you may ask the driver to open the carton and inspect the contents with you. Upon inspection, if damage is found you may refuse the shipment and write, "Refused, due to damage" on the delivery receipt. Be sure to keep a copy of the delivery receipt with your damage notations and contact us immediately. After accepting delivery, please keep all packaging materials for 10 days in case you discover damage or defects after delivery. In the unlikely event you receive a damaged item, please keep all the packing materials and call us toll free at 877-692-5069 or email us customerservice@breezyoung.com to have the item picked up and schedule a replacement at no cost to you.

How do I know if the item is in stock?  Units in stock is updated and displayed for each product on the product detail page.

How can I track my order?  A track number will be sent to you via e-mail after your order is shipped.

What is you cancellation policy?  There will be no charge incurred if you cancel your order before your order is shipped. There will be 15% cancellation fee plus all shipping and handling cost if your order has been shipped to you. Custom order can not be cancelled.

What is your privacy policy?  We do not sell, rent, and share any information collected from you for any reason. Data collected from you will be used for Breeze Young internal use only. We use data you provide to confirm and track your order, to send you our newsletter, new products, and promotion if you wish to. In any time it can be unsubscribed upon request, and to analyze trends and statistics. Although unlikely, in certain instances we may disclose your personally identifiable information when we have reason to believe that it is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, to Breeze Young or to others. We may also disclose your personally identifiable information when we believe the law requires it.

Is the information I give you secure?  We use sophisticated encryption and authentication tools to protect the security of your personal information. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we use all means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our web sites, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we will do whatever in our power to protect its security on our systems.

How do I clean and care of my wood furniture?  Proper handling, cleaning, and placement of fine wood furniture are essential to keep them in the best condition for many year to come.

Placement:  The temperature, humidity, and light can greatly affect the condition of wood furniture. Wood is a natural living material and will respond to changes in the atmosphere.  Extreme fluctuations in temperature and strong light can cause furniture to dry out, fade, shrink, crack, or split.  Extreme humidity can cause mold to expand.

·        It is very important to keep wood furniture in a stable temperature and humidity environment.

·        Do not expose fine wood furniture to extreme heat or humid condition.  Avoid placing it near a heat outlet such as radiators, hot air vents, air conditioners or open windows.

·        Do not expose wood furniture to direct sunlight or artificial light as strong light may cause finishes to fade.

·        Do not put plastic, rubber or hot objects such as hot coffee cups directly on a wood finish. Chemicals in those objects may soften or discolor the finish if left in contact with the furniture for a long period of time.

·        Use a humidifier or dehumidifier to regulate the level of humidity desired.  Place a glass of water inside or underneath wood furniture can also help to maintain the right level of humidity.

Cleaning:

·        Clear dust with a soft, clean cloth, dusting with the grain of the wood. The cloth may be dampened with a furniture dusting-aid or a furniture care polish product. Always follow the manufacturer’s directions on the product.

·        Never use chemicals, abrasive kitchen cleansers, other commercial cleaners, or solvents on wood pieces.

·        The furniture may be washed with a mild soap intended for that purpose or a furniture cleaning product available in most grocery stores. Following the directions on the product, use a soft cloth and wipe with the grain.

·        To best protect finish and keep shine of wood furniture, polish it with good quality, non-silicone furniture polish, following the grain of the wood every six months or so. Avoid using oily polishes or waxes.

·        Avoid silicone-based or any type of products that may leave an oily film on the furniture since they may cloud of the finish and is very difficult to remove. Also avoid oil based polishes as they tend to collect dust and even darken wood.

·        Wipe spilled liquids from the surface immediately with a soft, slightly damp cloth, in the direction of the wood grain.

·        Scratches from normal use may occur on furniture over time. These can be touched up with a scratch remover or special touch-up pens or sticks available at your furniture dealer or at many paint stores.

Handling:

·        To keep the health of joints, avoid harsh pushing or dragging of furniture across floor.

·        When moving furniture, pieces should be padded and covered for transport to avoid scratches.

Chinese Antique Furniture:  Chinese antique furniture was made from wood that was not kiln dried and was used to a climate with high humidity level for years. As wood is a natural living material, it will grow in an even humid environment and contract in a drier environment to settle in to its new climate.  The lines may be developed when the antique furniture makes adjustment to its new home. The development of lines does not affect the structural integrity at all, but adds character and allure to the piece.
